Music, movement and fun for children and young people with special needs

Volunteers

Volunteers, our Vital resource.

Musical Keys could not function efficiently without the help of volunteers. They come from all walks of life with ages ranging from students to pensioners. No special skills are required, just a kind heart and a good sense of fun. Some are music students who enjoy playing instruments, others enjoy participating in group activities. Training is carried out in-house and volunteers assist the staff to monitor children’s progress. Among their roles they:

  • Assist the children and families during music sessions
  • Play with the children during refreshment breaks
  • Help parents who have more than one child
  • Help to set up the room with instruments and toys
  • Attend meetings with staff to discuss the group activities

Group Locations are held in: Norwich, Aylsham, Diss and Great Yarmouth.

Other opportunities available to volunteers include:

  • Helping at our music sessions held in the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
  • Acting as a trustee by serving on our committee.
  • Taking a stall and our publicity stand to events in the community.
